When I walk stairs (work on the 12th floor), my fitbit charge 5 does not register this. Would anyone know how to solve this? Have no premium.

Hi there, @ZA43. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums.
As @TarasH has mentioned, please note that floors aren’t tracked on Charge 5, Luxe or any Inspire series devices. Although it is designed without floor feature, your device can track as many activities as other Fitbit devices does. For more information about your Fitbit Charge 5, you can click this link: Fitbit Charge 5 User Manual.

I am absolutely gutted that my new charge 5 doesn’t track floors. It has been one of the main things I’ve used for years with my charge 4.. I assumed charge 5 was an upgrade so of course like many others didn’t even consider checking before buying .. I would never have bought it if I knew this. I would’ve bought another charge 4.. if I could swap it I would… very very disappointed!!
is there any way of downloading some sort of upgrade for it? If not, my advice to others is don’t buy a charge five!!

@Wench62 the Fitbit devices that count stairs have a piece of hardware called an altimeter. The Charge 5 does not have an altimeter. Therefore it is not possible for it to count stairs. There will not be an update that can change that.
