Charge 5 won't track my sleep score

My fitbit hasn't been giving me a sleep score for a bit now. It started on and off, some nights it would, some nights it wouldn't. Finally, it stopped all together.

I has a very old charge 3 so I upgraded to a charge 5 assuming this to be the issue. However, since having the 5, it hasn't given me a sleep score a single night.

This does not appear to be a device problem since it has been across two devices, however I have re-synced, restarted, cleaned, etc. Nothing is working. I believe it to be an issue from the software standpoint. I am not sleeping any different than I always have.

Hi there, @Jeven. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 5 before reaching out. I understand how you must be feeling.

Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see your sleep score information. To get more detailed information, see What's sleep score in the Fitbit app?

With the above being said, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Although I appreciate the response, as stated, I am not sleeping any differently than I always have. I understand I need to see phases to see my sleep score, which is my issue.

As you can see below, it started as an intermittent issue before completely stopping. Nothing has changed on my end. I have had my fitbit for around 3 years and it consistently tracked my sleep stages without issue until very recently. Leading me to believe the most recent app or firmware update could be causing this issue.

I have had my Charge 5 for a week and managed to get 2 nights of sleep to track. I have done everything to fix it.  Had a Charge 3 for years and didn’t have this problem plus I know how to use a Fitbit. This isn’t a new problem for the Charge 5 as it has been noted for at least a year.  I can’t help but wonder why this issue hasn’t been fixed by now!

Do I have any other options here or any other input?

Hi!
I have the same issue. It’s given me the records for the night, everything is there except the sleep score. You mention the point of manually activating *Begin Sleep Now*. But has this be done now to get the sleep score or not? (As it tetects „ x minutes for falling asleep“ I didn’t think that was a problem)

thank you
