Charge 5 won't turn on or charge

Hello I think my Fitbit died 2 days ago and it won’t seem to charge or turn back on. I left it on the charger for an hour and nothing then I took it off wiped off the charger and the back of the fitbit but still nothing. I have also tried pushing the button on the cord 3 times several times. So then I left it on the charger all night and nothing. It does seem to vibrate when I press the button on the charging cord but no fitbit logo appears or shows that it is charging. Any advice is appreciated

Hi there, @Meaghan53. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Charge 5 before reaching out.

To better assist you, please make sure you've restarted your Charge 5 as described here

If the restart doesn't work and your Charge 5 doesn't vibrate during the restart process, please follow the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again.

Thank you for getting back to me. I have already tried resetting it several times but no response. I did try cleaning it and switching the USB port as well. It seems to vibrate sometimes when I follow the steps for pressing the button on charging cable 3 times but the screen doesn’t light up and not Fitbit logo appears like it should. If you have any other suggestions on how to get it to respond or turn on that would be greatly appreciated it! Thank you!

Fitbit is breaking all charge 5 watches. There is no fix as they continue to automatically update the watches with new firmware. You’re screwed. They just don’t want to tell you that. Contact customer support. If you’re under warranty (1 year) then they will offer you a new watch that is currently on back order for months. If not under warranty they will offer you a 35% discount to by their terrible product that they deliberately sabotaged again. Good luck.
