Charge 5 won't work unless it's connected to the charging cable

After charging to 99% it died as soon as I took it off the charger. I charged it again and the same thing happened. Any ideas?

Hi, @CityGypsy welcome to the community, you say your "Charge 5" "Died" but do not tell us what you saw. If the screen went dark but the Fitbit app synced & indicates it is fully charged, you should try restarting your "Charge 5", this video demonstrates the process.

If the Fitbit app indicates it synced but the SOC dived to 0% on disconnection you should talk to "Customer Support" using the Chat facility or phone for a prompt response. In preparation for your call note the steps you've taken & the results so you can brief the agent, also note when & where you bought your "Charge 5" as you may be able to benefit from Fitbit's warranty. If it is a recent purchase you may alternatively benefit from the retailer's returns policy.
