Charge 5 won't work unless it's connected to the charging cable

I've had a charge 5 for about a year now and it's worked fine but recently it's been doing something weird. When I try to charge it, it works fine and charges. However when I remove it from the charger it loses all of it's battery even if it was 100% before and needs to charge again. And it works completely fine when still in the charger, the screen shows charging going up, you can view the time, steps, heart rate and all the usual stuff. But as soon as I remove it from the charger, it just doesn't work, please help me fix it.
