Charge 5 won't work unless it's connected to the charging cable

My Charge 5 is doing similar things to what others have been saying. It’s charged, but it randomly shuts off. When I connect it to the charger, it comes back on. Today it shut off and was charged to 81% when connected to the charger. But then, for several hours, it shows the wrong date/time. I’ve tried all of the fixes mentioned in previous posts, but no fix lasts more than a day. I’m beginning to think this is just a way to have us spend more money on a new Fitbit.

Hi there @EBaun70! Welcome to the Fitbit Community!

Thanks for sharing with us the situation you're having with your Charge 5, which shuts off when not being connected to the charger and for your efforts.

Have you tried to restart your device? If not, connect your device to the charging cable. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times, pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

You could also try to sync your Fitbit with the Fitbit app and try to change the clock face.

Yes, I restarted. Yes, I changed the clock face. I have to connect it to the charger to turn it on, and then I have to synchronize it with the app or it’s completely jacked up. The point is moot anyway at this point. It won’t even turn back on. It didn’t even last me for 3 years! It barely made 2.5 years. They’re lasting fewer and fewer years each time I get a new one. I think I’m done with Fitbit.
