Was tired of seeing just negative comments. Great work.

Hello @John_himm me, too. Sometimes the negative posts are overwhelming and people don't notice the positive ones. Glad you like your Charge 5. I'm using the Luxe now, having moved on from the Alta HR. None of my real life family and friends ever come to the forums. They are too busy stepping and challenging me to step higher.

It would indeed be a perfect world if there was only joy and contentment for every Fitbit user. But reality is that "real life people" are coming to the forums because they have experienced significant frustration with Fitbits malfunctioning, misleading performance, breakage, customer service, etc. Of course not everyone has problems, but to imply that those who come to the forums are misrepresenting the level of concerns/problems that many, many others are also having is wrong. I think that Fitbit would benefit from paying attention to the repeated issues that are found on the forums, and use that customer feedback as a direction to improve their products. There are moderators who thank people and state that Fitbit values their feedback. Sadly, that does not always seem to be the case. I am seeing the same sentiments regarding frustration with Fitbit products on Facebook groups dedicated to hikers, runners, cross country skiers, bikers, etc.

Yup, pretty happy with my Charge 5. I updated form a Charge 3 and virtually everything I didn't like about the Charge 3 has been fixed/improved. The screen is totally readable in bright Colorado sunlight, the hourly reminders work, the notifications are readable. I miss the stair tracker from the Charge 3, but to be honest, it was wildly inaccurate anyway so no big loss. I use the phone connected GPS, and except for one day early on that's been working fine. And yesterday a new feature showed up in the app, "Health Metrics" that gives me breathing rate, Heart Rate Variability, and skin temperature variation. Not bad.

You do realize that the entire premise of the "forums" is for users who are having problems/requiring help with their devices...right???

Hi @nihahi actually, no. The entire premise? Not at all. Read the FAQ for the forums? click to see them. The forums have many areas where people discuss something other than their problems. Not everyone comes to the forums with problems. Some actually come to share their workout routines, share recipes and much, much more. Don't forget, to participate in these forums, we all agree to abide by the Terms of Service. If @John_himm and @narf57 are content, that's awesome. If you have an issue @nihahi why not start a new post and state what's going on, so you can get assistance with it.

No, actually the discussion threads are where people are directed to go for recipe ideas, fitness plans, challenges, weight loss etc.
The forums are labeled as "help".
Doesn't matter really. When my Fitbit dies, I will be joining the many people who have lost faith in the devices and the corporate attitude.

That's great news, @John_himm @narf57! Thank you for sharing that you've had a positive experience with your Charge 5.
If you haven't done so already, make sure to participate in the Discussions Forum of the Community as well!
@nihahi Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about the device. The forums are a place to share both good and bad experiences in a constructive manner and it's particularly encouraged for users to help each other.
Have a great day.

Absolutely - I have had some problems (new devices are bound to) but the help desk are v.good at sorting out and the people on here are very helpful indeed (so lets not knock the forum for that). Although I only have one night of sleep so far with the Charge 5, it recorded my sleep perfectly including correctly identifying where I lay awake for over an hour unable to sleep - and I hardly moved! I came from another brand which counted reading a book as sleep. Fitbit is an amazing piece of tech for sleep tracking and analysis.

Absolutely. I ordered a Charge 5 for my wife and myself on pre-order, couldn't be happier. Battery life is ~8-9 days for the both of us, loving it.
