Hello Fitbit community, story below:D
I really liked having my Fitbit and I started using it all the time from the moment I got it from my girlfriend for Christmas. After a while I realised climbing and doing handstands (especially handstands) would make the band come loose from the watch and the Fitbit fell of. This happened with several bands (I tried a couple) so I went back to the sport band that came with the Fitbit since it was holding on the best. Sadly I had to stop using it while climbing and doing handstands, but there was still so much use, running, swimming sleep tracking and being able to pay with it, so I still liked it and used it a lot.
A couple days ago I went swimming, diving in the third time the band snapped of again mid dive, I looked for it for hours, but the current took it away to fast and in the end I didn't find it.
So now I am looking for a replacement and I realised I should ask Fitbit and the Fitbit community if this "band snapping of mid activity" is a feature of the Fitbit charge 5, or if I got a what we would call in Sweden "a Monday copy", a copy made that does not meet the standards of the product?
Would be thankful for answers
Have a great day
/Marcel

It's possible that you are subjecting the band to more strain than it was designed to accept. It is, after all, intended to be used for mainly aerobic activities such as running.

Hello Ann, and thank you for your answer!
That might be true for handstands and climbing, I don´t think its true for diving though. I just had a chat with the support where I asked if the charge 5 maybe is not suited for such activity's and their answer was clear "you should use your Fitbit during all activity's, so maybe they will send me another one:D
Have you not had any problems like this where the band snaps of?

Hi @Marcelunilsson I agree with @SunsetRunner on this. Swimming is one thing, but diving is an entirely different stress placed on the Fitbit. I've seen some martial artists post asking if it's safe to wear while grappling and such, but it's not meant to be twisted and kicked either. Sorry you lost your Fitbit. Why not see how it was paid for initially. Sometimes credit card companies have a warranty that we're unaware of and could replace the item.

Hi @Odyssey13. I would agree on deep diving, but jumping into the water head first is something I would expect an activity tracker with a sports band to handle. I mean even a 5$ watch can handle that.
Thx for the condolances and tip about warranty:D
