All the other posts I see on here for this have had the comments disabled. I wanted to be sure this was reported. I have had Fitbits since the original Charge HR device. When I first switched from an older Charge HR to the 5 I had connectivity issues with my fitness app. I bit the bullet on that and kept the device. Now I really regret it.
I decided to take up swimming a little over a week of my Charge HR 5's birthday. I purchased it on 9/22/22 and attempted to swim on 9/28/23. I followed the instructions perfectly, my workout was logged, and I was still getting readings on the app. Just one major issue, my screen is completely black. I feel pulses in my fitbit when I try to press the charger button 3 times but this does not fix it. I have tapped the screen forcefully 2 times with no response. I see that others on here mentioned receiving a replacement but once again I was 5 days out of the warranty window. I'm livid that I used this device as advertised and fried my Fitbit. My last fitbit lasted me over 5 years. This is absurd. Only activate swim mode if your fitbit is 364 days old or less. My battery now drains in less than a day as well.
The swim I took was 15 minutes long in a pool that maxed out at 5 feet deep. I was swimming laps.
