Clarity is needed on the GPS for Charge 5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Fitbit needs to clearly state how the GPS will function in the Charge 5. Will it be another "guesstimate" or will it be a true GPS tracker?

What will be the drain on the battery if using the built in GPS as compared to the Charge 4?

How reliable will the connectivity be in the Charge 5, given the multiple failures of the Charge 4?

Having been hugely disappointed in the Charge 4 GPS, these questions need to be clearly and honestly addressed before I would ever consider purchasing another Fitbit.

Hello @nihahi

As you're aware I raised the same first question of you

Replies from Fitbit? zero, none, nada...

Frankly speaking I think nobody in the Fitbit developing team is aware of this algorithm and how/why it works like this.

For what it’s worth, I have the Sense, which has onboard GPS (so does the 5.) If it’s the “same” GPS, it should work pretty well; I’ve been quite happy with its function on the Sense.

This is a community forum where the community of Fitbit users help with answers.

You should not expect much info straight from fitbit.

In some cases, the moderators don't even know the answer, or are under an NDA. So yes as in the past, don't expect to much on the subject of the GPS, eventually the users will be able to determine it's charectoristics.

For now we have the pinned post above the store and the blog. Soon I expect to see some reviews on YouTube
