I will not use a Google account, for reasons outside of Fitbit, but I am unclear on ALL the consequences of this decision on functionality for my Fitbit Charge 5. Will the app be totally useless without a Google account? I read elsewhere in the Community that the time of day on my Fitbit Charge 5 will no longer be updated. Is this true? Will GPS functions still work? If the Fitbit Charge 5 will lose a significant amount of functionality, do users have any options for replacement/partial refund? I appreciate your consideration of these questions, Gary

According to this help page (<-- click), you will not be able to use the Fitbit/Google Health app if you don't move your account to a Google account. Since your Charge 5 would have to sync with the app to maintain the correct time, it does sound like the device will pretty much lose functionality.
Considering that the announcement about moving Fitbit accounts to Google has been out for over a year, I doubt that users will have any options for partial refund. I don't think there will be any replacement options either since all the devices will require a Google account to use the app.

Best Answer@GDHJr Your account will be deleted after the deadline. You mentioned GPS. It won’t work because there is no place for the data to go. You can’t change the time if you travel to a different time zone. The time on clocks like these can drift over time. After a month or so your watch won’t even have the correct time.
