Connecting Charge 5 to family account

We bought a Charge 5 for our 11 year old in the black Friday deals. We'd wanted to get her a proper fitbit for a while and loved that this had the integrated GPS so when she participates in junior parkrun she won't need to take a phone too. However, when I added her account it said I needed to set up a family account, which is great, however the charge 5 isn't an option, inly three 'ace' watches which are not suitable for her. What do I do?

@DiagonPhoenix only the Ace series of Fitbits are intended for children under 13 (16 in some European countries). This is due to laws relating to internet safety for minors. There's not a way to add a different device to a child account. I wish had a different answer for you. Sorry...

@alexthecat thank you for replying so quickly. How frustrating though. I actually don't want her to access all the Internet features so having it attached to a family account surely is a sensible thing. Feel so disappointed and let down by fitbit.
