Couldn't Sync your Charge 5

A month or so ago I upgraded from a Charge 4 to a Charge 5 and since then I've noticed a significant increase in "Couldn't Sync your Charge 5" messages when I open the Fitbit App.  This is easily fixed by performing a manual sync.  Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

Hello @EtheP

The issue your describing is quite normal for me as well. Fitbit App used to have a function call all day sync but has since done away with it. I’m under the impression that the all day sync was possibly removed to help stop battery drain. Either way since the all day sync was removed I find myself having to manually sync much more then I did in the past like yourself.
😃Hopefully that answers your question. Please let me know

Thanks MegaBite!  Fitbit has gone back and forth on auto/automatic sync I can't keep track!!

I cannot sync as the app just shuts down as soon as I open it. This started this afternoon and four calls to support have gotten me no help. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem my last sync was yesterday @11:00 p.m.

Hello @Miki916 and @MaryBS

Have you tried logging out of the Fitbit app then force shut the app by swiping it upward. Restart your phone then try logging back into the Fitbit App.
😃 Maybe this will refresh things and you’ll be able to get on the app

Yes. I’ve deleted the app multiple times and reinstalled. I’ve shut off the phone and turned it back on multiple times. Very frustrating.

I am having the same problem everyday, and today my Fitbit just stopped tracking my steps. I have tried every suggestion to fix this problem and nothing has worked.

Hello @For_Me , @MaryBS and @Miki916

Your issue is different then what the original poster @EtheP is addressing. The original post is about having to manually sync your Fitbit Tracker to the Fitbit App sometimes throughout the day but does indeed sync. Not syncing at all is an entirely different issue. The original poster has an answer now to their question.

I agree @EtheP ! I personally preferred the all day sync feature! I’d rather risk charging my Fitbit a tad bit more then to have to constantly be manually refreshing most of the time.

To address your issue I’d recommend trying to restart your Fitbit Tracker. Look here to see how it’s properly done: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186.htm  Also check here to insure your mobile device is compatible:https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/technology/compatible-devices

😉Hopefully restarting will fix your issue

That is correct.  Mine will manually sync just fine, except throughout the day I will receive a message in the app that it couldn't sync (I see this as soon as I open the Fitbit app).  A simple manual sync will fix that.  The problem is I've noticed a significant increase in this issue once I moved from the Charge 5.

Fitbit Charge 5 does not syncing with my laptop running Windows 10.
It worked with Fitbit Charge 3.

Unfortunately @ManfredJohann there are no more updates to the Fitbit App for computers and Fitbit has been transitioning away from computers for sometime now and focused on tablets and mobile devices. That’s most likely the reason your having issues with syncing. If possible I’d download the app on either a tablet or mobile device if you have one.
