Customer Service Cannot Provide a Ship Date for New Charge 5

I placed an order for a Charge 5 on July 3 to replace my Charge 4 that broke (the tab connecting the watchband to the actual device broke off -- a serious quality issue). I was informed it would ship in a few weeks, then the date changed to Aug 9.  I just called customer service and they said the Charge 5 was on backorder and they had no idea now when it would ship!  I then googled the Charge 5 and in several different forums there were many customers complaining about brick and other quality issues.  At this point given their poor quality track record and uninformed customer service, I just went to Garmin and purchased a Venu Sq that is currently on sale.  For all of you Fitbit Purchasers that are equally frustrated I would highly recommend Garmin -- their customer service is far superior and friends that have garmin watches are going on 5 years wear with no problems!
