Once again, my Fitbit Charge 5 is not syncing. I can't get it to do anything but nothing! Am I the only one having this problem? Is there a lasting solution?

My Fitbit Charge 5 went blank / black after syncing data from a bike ride this morning.  Device screen is black / blank whether on the charger or not and will not sync with the app, even after following all the device restart instructions multiple times and spending over an hour on Live Chat with either a person or a bot.  All I got was a case number and a statement that I would be receiving an email from Fitbit, but no commitment as to when.

You definitely are not- mine is clinically dead also- despite not having gotten the July update which may have made a difference when the new Fitbit phone was installed.

UPDATE: I got help from customer service. My Charge 5 responded to the charger and my pressing the button on the flat end of the charger cable three times within 8 seconds. Fingers crossed it lasts and I do not wake up to a black screen.😏

Did not work for me

That worked for three times over 5 days then did not work.  The device is dead and Fitbit will not honor the warranty because when I bought it on Amazon the seller was "TheTechGroup" not Amazon.  I filed a warranty claim with "TheTechGroup" but am not holding out much hope.  I replaced the dead Charge 5 with an Inspire 3 because I do not want all the Google bloatware on the Charge 6.  Also, my Charge 5 died when syncing bike ride data with the app so since the Inspire 3 uses the phone GPS perhaps I avoid that step/risk (not sure).  Almost went with Garmin VivoSmart 5 and probably will if Fitbit keeps blowing up.  Will see.
