Distance/mileage is not recorded from excersizes selected on watch

When I select bicycling on the charge 5 watch and when Iam done the miles I rode do not appear on the dashboard. They appear when you look at specific excersize but not in daily total. How can I get them to appear there?

Daily total distance does not include bicyclng;  it is only step-based activity: walking, running, hiking.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
