Please excuse me if this was asked before - but even after reading some other articles, the GPS function is still not clear to me.
Do I need to manually start an exercise to record the GPS location? Will the Fitbit record the GPS location when it auto-detects an activity?
I just took a walk, and the Fitbit accurately figured out that I was on a walk. It tracked my steps, it tracked the heart rate, but there is no map of my route. This is my first day, and everything has the vanilla settings. However, I checked a few items off the list:
* GPS is set to dynamic
* My phone has recorded my walk
* The Fitbit app has always access to the location
* The walking activity has GPS recording enabled
Thank you so much,
Cheers

Hello @FUB168
Yes, you do need to manually start the exercise from the tracker to enable GPS (as far as I know).
I’m pretty sure if you start it manually it should record the map for you. Having said that, I use only use the built in GPS as I never take my phone on my jogs.
If I’ve given you wrong information, I’m sorry.

Thanks @Wibby, got it. The GPS tracking is working as designed even though I feel it is not working as desired.
