Does Fitbit provide any metrics at all about the quality or sensitivity of their device sensors?

I'm currently wondering if it is worth upgrading from a Charge 3 to a Charge 5.

However, after searching, I can't find any information at all as to whether or not any of the sensor technologies on the device are different in any way.

The heart rate monitor, which is the core feature that makes all Fitbit devices different from plain watches, and arguably the whole reason Fitbit exists (it was the first to market with the LED heart rate sensor), might be exactly the same as the first Charge HR device that they launched in 2015.

Yes, I get that they add new features like GPS and color screens... but how do I know if it, for example, the step tracking or the heart rate monitor will perform any more accurately?

Shouldn't this be the kind of thing customers can compare?

@Giampi71,

Thanks for your response. Isn't it strange that we all go along with this company that tells us nothing about how well their devices perform?

Hello @Dave_M_G ,

Fitbit never provides any metrics about its sensors.

My opinion is that the best source of information is The Quantified Scientist who tested several Fitbit devices.

You can check his Youtube Channel for many tests anyway I can anticipate that he is very happy about sleep detection and much less about HR sensor that, on Sense/Versa 3, is absolutely terrible (I agree wholeheartly)
