Does the Charge 5 have the same sensors as the Luxe or the Sense?

I ask this because the Luxe is extremely accurate, but the Sense is not when it comes to heart rate and exercise tracking. I find even the inspire 2 and versa 2 have great accuracy. Hoping to not lose that with the Charge 5!

This is purely a guess, but I'm thinking that the sensors will be more in line with the Luxe sensors, since it's kind of the same style tracker as opposed to a watch, like the Sense.

Really at this point it's impossible to know until users and reviewers get their hands on it to test accuracy. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, but at a guess I would say it is a similar "Pure Pulse 2.0" to the Sense/Versa 3

This is because although being a tracker it also features an ECG/EDA sensor just like the Sense. This requires extra hardware around the HR sensor which the Sense has, but previous trackers do not.

It's not to say no tweaks or adjustments have been made though. Either way it will be interesting to see how this performs.

There are hints in the release that the Charge 5 has more sensors as in an EDA

Yeah this all freaks me out. The sense and versa 3 are just horrible trackers for heart rate. Will have to wait for the reviews I suppose to see if it can actually work this time. If it is the same as the Luxe, we are good. If it is the sense, we are screwed.

If Fitbit has any hope of staying competitive in this market then they better NOT use the same hardware as the Sense as it is undependable at best. Heart Rate is the worst of any smartwatch I've used, and so many stats depend on HR that it makes all this other info useless. I think the FDA should pull their ECG approval for the Sense. And of course Fitbit won't even acknowledge the issue.

I'm not sure what ECG the ability to read the electrical impulses have to do with the visible detection of the volume of blood.

The HR accuracy seems to be more from the algorithms then from a general hardware issue. It is possible that fitbit may have received a shipment of our of spec hardware which would need to be first identified.

I hope it doesn’t use same hardware as Sense…that was horrible HRM. Chest strap/Ionic showed me at 170 at my brisk walk/jog and Sense has me at 120. Sorry but when I am dripping sweat and pushing myself all out..no way I am just at 120! I think it honestly has to do with their sweat sensors messing things up.
I really just hope Google doesn’t destroy Fitbit…like they did Jawbone.

@SleepyxEquus We all really hope Fitbit doesn't use the Purepulse 2.0 (used on Sense/Versa3) and adopt the same sensor used on Luxe.

In my little test I have been very pleased about Luxe performances.
