Hi everyone.  I have an issue that has sprung up only in the last few days with the ECG app showing crazy waveforms and constantly giving an inconclusive result.  It is also causing the watch to restart on occasion.  I have used the ECG app with no issue for several months prior to this.

Initially, it stopped registering my fingers.  It just kept telling me to put my fingers on the sides even though they were moistened and on the sides.  For the odd time that it did register my fingers, the waveform was mostly made up of vertical lines that filled the entire vertical space for the waveform display on the Charge 5.  After uninstalling and re-installing, resetting, and restarting the watch several times, it started registering my fingers again, but the waveform now just looks like a bunch of R waves rammed together - just squiggle after squiggle.  Inconclusive results every time.

The EDA app seems to work normally and it does register my heart rate.

I have tried everything that's been recommended that I could find:

1.  Uninstall and reinstall the app - several times.

2.  Pushing and holding the button on the charging cable 3 times as indicated.  I did this many times.

3.  Moistening fingers

4.  Make sure fitbit is in the proper position on your arm - it is

5. Restart the fitbit - many times

6. Clean the fitbit with a soft cloth

I've had this Charge 5 for about a year now.  From what I've read, they seem to have a tendency to self destruct around this time.  I hope that's not the case.

Has anyone else had a similar issue with their ECG app?

Thank-you so much!

Update:  Now, it's taking an ECG reading when I'm not touching the sides at all!  This also shows the vertical lines in place of an actual ECG wave.Touch-Free Wonky ECGTouch-Free Wonky ECG
