My Fitbit Charge 5 repeatedly encourages me to do ten thousand steps a day, and wants me to read all about the benefits of doing that number. I have had many Fitbits from the One, two of the Flex models, and now I am on my third Charge.
I find my Fitbits helpful and I enjoy using them. But this encouragement to do 10,000 steps seems to be wasted on me, and probably many more of you.
I am 75 and my goal is to average 9-10 miles per day, in the form of 63+ miles per week. I just would prefer if Fitbit would check with our stats and set an algorithm to avoid encouraging 10,000 steps per day when we are already doing more than twice that much.
If they don't like using algorithms (which I doubt), they could just make it very easy to drop the silly suggestions, and only have us receive more intelligent ones, with a check box that says something like "I already do that." Oh yes, and store that in our settings.

Or else you could just change your goals, and not just stay with the defaults.

Hello @Easytimes-Here I find them a bit annoying too (and repetitive).
I think @Easytimes-Here means the advice that appears in the App @JohnnyRow.
I hoped that tapping on them for more information might have made them stop sending that particular one, but it made no difference.
Today I noticed there’s a thumbs up and thumbs down icon, so I tapped on thumbs down. I’m hoping that might mean I won’t see that one again.
It might be worth tapping the thumbs down each time one of those messages appears (unless it’s one you like).
I hope that helps a bit. I know I felt a bit better expressing my dislike of it today!

I know can turn those off (I did) but don't remember where - working on finding it.
