Can someone tell me the difference between the exercise types - workout, boot camp, interval workout, outdoor workout? Is each type tracked differently or is it just a preference for which one you want to show up in your exercises?

Hello @Tervin and welcome to the Community forum.  There is some overlap among three shortcuts -- Workout, Bootcamp and Circuit Training, so there is some preference in those choices.  But here is the specific information the shortcuts.

  • Workout can be used for many different types of exercise, especially those where Fitbit doesn't have a shortcut.  Your exercise details have an option to Categorize Exercise.  You can rename a Workout to something else.  You can't rename other shortcuts.
  • To me, Bootcamp and Circuit Training are interchangeable and an issue of semantics.
  • Interval Workout is a set of one exercise where you set a move time period, rest time period, and number of reps.
  • Outdoor Workout is for non-step based activities like kayaking and standup paddle board.  Fitbit only counts step based activities to your daily distance total.  Outdoor Workout distance doesn't get added to your daily total.  There is an error in the display list.  The icon for Outdoor Workout is the same as the Interval Workout.  I'm sure this is part of the confusion.
