Exercise app accuracy and ability to close app will it continues to track

I have had my Charge 5 for several weeks now. I'm having a bit of difficulty with the Exercise app. I do water aerobics 2-3 times a week. A Fitbit rep said the best mode to use for this was "workout", since it isn't the same as swimming, but I also understand that I should use the water lock function while in the pool.

Is there a way to exit out of the exercise app once it is started in order to turn on the water lock without pausing or stopping the workout?

Secondly, does tracking improve over time? I've only done a couple of workouts since getting my tracker but I'm not sure it is being accurate. I felt my workout today was more strenuous than yesterday's but all of my stats, heart rate, zone minutes, etc were all lower except my time which was 10 minutes longer.

Hello again @Kat10922 ,

I'm sorry you're still having problems with the water lock.  Unfortunately it seems that the water lock function only works with swimming but not with other types of exercise, so you would have to exit the exercise to set it up, but then wouldn't be able to get back in as you've experienced.

I wonder if you could ask the Fitbit rep about this. I was going to suggest setting it as swim and then changing the activity in the App afterwards, but I have a feeling that heart rate isn't tracked during a swim.  I might be wrong on this though.  You could check before you try it in the water.

Good luck!
