Welcome back to the forums @Nellita23

Thank you for sharing the inquiry about the Charge 5.

While it's tricky to give an exact lifespan, a lot of it comes down to how you use it. By keeping an eye on the battery, protecting the screen, being mindful of its water resistance, and giving it a regular clean, you'll be giving your tracker the best chance to be a loyal companion for years to come.

My first lasted less than six months. My second about 18 months but died today. Both were treated very well. They just don’t seem to last very long.

Mine just died today and I had about 2 years.  Wish it would last longer than that, as I don't want to continue to buy this product every 2 years.

Mine has also just died!  Never been used for swimming or any water.  Very annoying. Trying to contact help centre for advice. Been using Fitbit for over 9 years now - is it time to change?

Charge 5. About 3 to 4 years. Usually after the warranty is over.

Mine died today, but lasted 4 years. For me it was worth it and I didn’t use all the content and did not have a premium account

Thank you for your non-answer. I have had my Charge 5 since May 2022. My Alta HR I also had about 3 year lifespan. My Fitbit journey started when my health insurance gave us the Fitbit Zip back in 2016(?) after the Pebble company went defunct.. Loved it!

The Zip first battery lasted a little over a year. The next battery 6 months. The following battery only 4.  The next 3 months. At this rate of consumption, I felt it was more environmentally friendly to get a rechargeable Fitbit. So I bought my Alta HR in 2017/2018.

This one only lasted about 3 years when it started overheating while charging. So I replaced it with the Charge 5 May 2022. Battery life was a week.

Starting in January, it has gone down hill. One minute its 75% then nothing. Go to bead at 57% wake up dead. Or last night go to bed 76% wake up dead. Reading the forums, I observe that everyone is having the same issues along with issues switching to the google account.

Since I believe that google has enough information about me, I am saying goodbye to Fitbit. It has been a good journey but not anymore
