Hello,
I think that the acquisition of Fitbit by Google is an unmitigated disaster for Fitbit users.
As can be read in this forum, there are a lot of problems with Fitbits. 😔We users report problems, ask questions and hope for solutions. It is now clear that the Charge 5 is a bad product.
There are a number of well-intentioned users in the forum (moderators...) who help users as best they can to get things resolved. Well intentioned, but...sigh
But the real solutions must come from Fitbit. But Fitbit is no more. It has become Google. And Google is so big that it allows itself to not respond to the complaints of Fitbit users and push for real solutions and completely ignore them.😡
The Fitbit forum moderators are also unable to get problems really solved by Google.
Ultimately, I think Google wants everyone to buy a Google Pixel Watch. If they want to promote it, they could also exchange all the Fitbits for the Google Pixel Watch, which would at least gain a large group of users.
If car companies like Tesla, General Motors, Volkswagen, etc., would build and maintain cars this way, they would have been bankrupt a long time ago.
Google lives off our data and that's the only thing they care about.
(I feel sorry for all the moderators, but they are also victims) 😢

Totally agree with you, I too think they want us all to go to Pixel, but who in the hell would buy another Google fitness tracker after the FitBit Charge experience - plus it's nearly twice the price.

TBH I’m sick of these mammoth organisations that think they can re-write consumer laws to suit their shoddy practices. How many people have just had to kiss goodbye to £130.00 because the charge 5 packs up after a few months and the customer gets worn down with battling their non existent customer care. Apparently its a normal thing in industry to buy out your rival and then run their the business into the ground, leaving it open for you to take their customers.

I would tell anyone who is even remotely considering purchasing a FitBit to get on the Forums for the product they're interested in, it's not just Charge 5, here's a link to the Pixel Forum - scroll down and look at the listed categories - I don't think anyone needs to go any further, it's obvious that this too is a rubbish product at double the price!

I would just tell them to get a non-Google product. Fitbit had a good product. I expect that the hardware based on the Fitbit designs are also good, but Google now provides the software and support, and they don't seem to care about anything beyond data gathering.

Don't expect this to get any better. Google wants to merge the Fitbit capabilities into the Google Watch and kill the Fitbit product line.

I have had the same experiences These watches are junk and my wife has had the same issues. The company refuses to admit there is a problem and will not stand behind the product. Very disappointed!

Don't bother with another FitBit. Google has completely trashed all of the great features that were once part of the fabulous FitBit Family. They only wanted their OWN google watch on the market. I will never own another fitbit product and will never purchase anything google produced as they are completely deaf and blind to the comments and thousands of requests by users who are fed up with the sleep changes and the other useless horrid "up"dates they made to the once great product. Now it does not accurately track sleep and the sleep display is totally a pile of c r a pola. Absolutely now a worthless product.

I guess all 3 previous comments are right, on my 5 th fitbit charge after 8 years, I really liked the watch for multiple reasons , improved health (72 years old) and increased motivation. My charge 5 had the icon froze on the watch after transferring from fitbit App to google app. After multiple trying to fix it I put back in the drawer for 7 weeks. Today I deleted the watch from the app then reset back as a new watch . it has been working for the last 5 hours. My wife lost her fitbit 2 months ago, bought a new watch from the competition at 75% less of the price. A happy customer brings many customers , a dissatisfied customer the opposite.

Hi everyone.
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. I understand where you're coming from and I apologize for the experience that you've gone through. Our members input is invaluable to us as we work to improve our services, and yours isn't the exception.
I'm going to close this thread to keep the forums organized. However, if you're having issues with your Charge 5 and the possible steps described in our Help Site were exhausted, I'd recommend contacting our Support team so they can provide you with further assistance. On the other hand, if you already have a case created, reply back to their last email in order to receive information about their resolution.
