Fitbit addition of GPS in its trackers is ridiculous given they use Lithium Polymer batteries which have very short number of charge cycles until they become unusable. It's irresponsible not to offer a battery replacement service. Contributing to environmental detriment and eroding consumer trust. If the Fitbit Charge 4 or 5 gets 4 to 6 hours of battery life from a full charge when in GPS mode and about 2 hours charging time and a typical lithium polymer battery lifespan having about 200 to 400 charge cycles with perfect care then you could expect, with continuous use, to have a dead Fitbit device in about 50 to 133 days. I just want feedback as I would think a person's health and fitness characteristics would hardly change much within the lifespan of a Fitbit fitness tracker or smartwatch. Might be smarter, healthier, safer, better for the environment and more effective/ accurate to just go get your heart rate,, blood pressure, body mass composition, weight, ECG done at your family doctor's practice and or personal trainer every 4 months. I don't like the idea that Fitbit is encouraging consumers to not use professional healthcare to monitor their health. Business standpoint I guess the model is more about tracking consumer behavior with well their trackers so they know when consumers sleep, what they eat, where they go etc. Private corporations like this likely don't uh care about people's health and wellbeing.
