Find my phone doesn’t work Charge 5

I have tried reinstalling Fitbit app and restarting my iPhone and clearing cache but the find phone on Fitbit charge 5 doesn’t work. It only works if I have the Fitbit app open which is pointless if the phone Fitbit app isn’t running when lost. Anyone have a fix for this?

Your fitbit app starts up with the phone and runs in the background. What you are saying is that it only works when the user interface is open. This might because the app hasn't been given permission to run in the background.

Doesn’t that drain the battery sooner than it would otherwise? It really boils down to misleading the consumer on how the device works. I like my FitBit but am disappointed in the find-my-phone function. It should clearly state in advertisements how it works.

With my fitbit versa 2 my phone could be sleeping and find my phone would wake it and ring. It doesn’t do that with this **ahem** charge 5. This fitbit is awful and i have commented as such on Amazon, Walmart, and 2 other sites.

Maybe your Fitbit app is set to not refresh when it's in the background, so it doesn't receive/process the command from the Fitbit?

• To turn this feature off for your apps on iOS, go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh. Here, you can choose whether you want this feature on or off completely, or just WiFi only. You can also toggle this on and off for individual apps

Yes, it has settings for that, which are turned on.
