My fit bit charge 5 is not working . I have had it 2 days . It charged the first day , went dead in 1 day , now it won’t charge anymore . Also when the battery was charged , I was not able to sync or update. It worked fir about 2 hrs, then shut off and won’t turn on anymore

I’m sorry to hear about the problems you’re having with it.
I have a question, are you using Android or an iPhone? Sometimes the advice can be different depending on which type.
Also, have you tried restarting it from the charger? To do this, connect it to the charger, then press the button at the USB end 3 times. That can often help to bring it back to life.
Here’s a picture of the button just in case.

After the Fitbit symbol comes on can you tap the screen and get anything else to show?
Another thing to try is to go into the App on your phone and try to change the Clock Face (I've heard that different clock faces can cause problems). It would be a good idea to leave your Fitbit charging while you do it.
Go into the App, tap your profile picture, then Charge 5, then Gallery, then Clocks. Choose a different one from the one you were using before and tap to install it.
The other things that are important to check are that the App is up to date. You said that it failed when you tried to update your Charge 5, if you have an adblocker, it might be good to disable it when you're trying to update your tracker as it can interfere with it sometimes.
Other than that, I don't know of any quick fixes and suggest you try Support then. The Live Chat is good (I've heard) and 24 hour. You can reach it by tapping Help at the bottom of the page here, then scrolling down to the grey section that say Let's Talk and tap Get Support, then Live Chat.
I hope that either my suggestions or the Support people can help you as it's horrible being stuck like you are.
