FitBit Charge 5 update causes battery to drain quickly and black screen

I have been having this issue for the last 2 weeks. My FitBit device Charge 5 has been unresponsive to touch and is unable to sync with my mobile device - Samsung Galaxy A-71. I also want to report that my tracker's screen went dark unexpectedly as well as the battery to drain quickly. So, what's the best solution to solve this issue?

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @PasanH-Apr_2003!

Sad to hear that your Charge 5 isn't working as expected. As a first attempt to get things fixed I'd suggest restarting it by closely following these instructions as timing is crucial for this procedure:

1.) Connect your Charge 5 to the charging cable which has to be connected to a reliable power source.
2.) Press the button located on the flat end of the charging cable 3 times within 8 seconds(!), holding each press for about 1 second(!).
3.) Wait around 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on your device's display.

Next I'd like to point out that Samsung with their latest system updates seems to have implemented very strict methods for saving power on their devices. If the Fitbit app or at least some services of it are not allowed to run in the background, your Charge 5 won't have a chance to automatically sync. Please have a look here to get more information on that:

Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

What should I know about using the Fitbit app on my Android phone?
