Fitbit 5: Light on back continuously on draining battery

I have 2 issues:-

1.The ECG function no longer works. It says Error Pls reopen the application.

2. The light on the back (used by the ECG) remains on all the time which is draining the battery real quick.

Tried restarting the fitbit several times but nothing resolves.

Any ideas?
