Fitbit 5 dies, I've tried everything from forum

Hi,

I've a fitbit 5 with less than a year usage. I've charged it in the morning and went for a long run. It was still working at midday but I noticed it was totally unresponsive at night.

The screen is black. I've tried the below methods and it doesn't work.

- charging + reset (3 pulses on USB wire button) + tried to sync via mobile app

- charging + change USB plug + reset + tried to sync via mobile app

- charge overnight (at least 8hrs) + reset + tried to sync

I'm quite frustrated because I've had this for less than a year ... I've had other fitbit models previously and they lasted me at least 2 years. It also seems like the fitbit 5 is a problematic model ... I wonder if quality has dipped.

I tried getting help through the contact centre but the call option was not available ...

Would appreciate if someone can help me resuscitate my poor fitbit 5 🙏🏻

Hi, @SunsetRunner welcome to the community, If your Charge 5 is less than a year old you may have the benefit of Fitbit's return and warranty policy depending on where you are, who you bought it from & when. If this might be the case talk to "Customer Support" again, work through steps one & two then use the chat facility or phone for a prompt response.

I hope this helps, post here again & let us know how you get on.

Cheers

Thank you @Gr4ndp4 !

Not wanting to lose my Fitbit so easily, I submitted a Customer Support form with the same details in this post and requested a callback. They got back to me quickly. On the call, I went through 2-3 more tests with the Support staff, and he confirmed that my Fitbit is dead and that I am eligible for a replacement (since I bought it from an authorised store). So, I'm waiting for their email for the next steps.

In hindsight, I guess I was a little panicky last night and couldn't believe my Fitbit was broken.

Thanks for your advice nonetheless 🙂
