Fitbit Charge 5 Display is randomly flickering and fading in and out

Hello,  I am having an issue with the display on my Charge 5, it seems to be randomly flickering, fading in and out, and looks like it is going to die.  Issue seems to have started after updating the software on the  device.  I already tried to change the display brightness, auto wake mode, and restarted the device.  The device was purchased from Fitbit website on 2/15/2022

Welcome to the Community forums, @JonPhillips

I appreciate all the information that you've provided about this inconvenience with your Charge 5 device and the troubleshooting steps that you already tried.

Keep in mind here are some general recommendations that are usually helpful with any type of display issues. Please try these additional steps that have been useful for other users:

  1. Complete the 3 pulse restart procedure method using the charging cable.
  2. Please sync your device in the Fitbit app by tapping your profile picture > Charge 5 > Sync Now.
  3. If you  can't sync, please try tapping on your profile picture > Charge 5 > Tile to see if the firmware banner appears (since a new firmware version has been released for the Charge 5).
  4. If it's still unresponsive, please try changing the clock face as well and check if you're able to see anything on the display.

It seems that you already tried a few steps that are usually helpful with these problems. If you continue to experience the same problem after all the steps suggested, I recommend that you get in touch with the Customer Support team for further assistance with this. They will let you know how to proceed.

Same here Jon, started by display flickering and fading out, that very day the battery died after just 2 days of full charge. I’ve had this Fitbit for less than 5 months and it was sent to me as a replacement from Fitbit after my Charge 4 snapped where the strap attaches. Very disappointed and am going to change brand.
