My Fitbit has been going to black screen and unresponsive every few hours for the last week. It just shuts down in the middle of a run, or when I'm turning off the alarm, or when I'm driving, or whenever it feels like it. The battery charge is at 70 or 80% when it happens. The screen is black and unresponsive and it loses the time until I re-synch it to the app. It gives a little vibration first then shuts down, so I can tell when it's dying.
The only way to wake it up is to plug it into the charge cable. I've reset it with the settings and with the button on the cord multiple times with no improvement.
I've had several Fitbits over the years (going back to 2016) and this model has had the most glitches. The black screen happened yesterday and again 15 hours later this morning, so it's frequent enough that the Fitbit is barely usable. Seems like this is a common problem with this model, and the fact that it happened a few months past the end of the warranty suggests maybe the company has shifted away from products that last a few years to products that have more fancy features but no longevity?

Sounds like my experience is similar to yours, but mine has been going on since mid-July. I have discontinued using many of the features that result in failure and only use what I feel I need, but I never leave the house without the charger and have to use it to reconnect often. There are so many separate posts discussing what appears to be this problem. I wish a moderator would put them all together so Fitbit might take notice. Maybe what I'm reading in some reviews and articles online from various sources about Google not intending to continue the Fitbit brand is true? I haven't seen any moderator comments saying that it has been referred to programmers, so I don't have much hope. I've been through two long troubleshooting chats with customer service staff checking everything that is commonly recommended as a fix. Nothing has been productive. After the second chat they said all they can do for me is refer me to warranty to see if they can offer me anything. I don't want to put more money into a failing product that I don't believe will be supported.

I'm having the same issue, sometimes several times a day. Was considering the Charge 6, but why should I buy another Fitbit, or any other Google product, if this is going to continue to happen and Google apparently doesn't seem to care about supporting their products?
