My fitbit is exactly a year old ans barely used it. The battery was completely drained out and I tried to charge it. The battery percent was initially showing 1% charged after which it went black screen. The screen doesnt turn on and its not charging also. Tried the troubleshooting guide, it vibrates and is connected to my phone’s Bluetooth but the screen is still black.
Need support and help.

Attach to charger and press usb button three times. That should reboot your Charge 5 and may fix your issue.

Tried it multiple times! The watch only vibrates and the logo appears and the screen is black again!

Put it in freezer to cool it down. Then remove and let it return to more normal temp. Try the USB reboot again.

Apparently, I am in the same boat. However, my Charge 5 has been in continual use for around 3-4 years. I have tried the reboot as well as the freezer approach. So far, no success.

Hello @Shwetha_anand
This user posted about the freezer method in this thread (<-- click link). Hopefully, this will work for you.

For the record, my Charge 5 is dead. Reboot failed, freezer failed. Guess I will give it last rites and use my old One until I can afford a new fitness device.

Could you please describe the usb button? I don’t seem to have any buttons….

The OEM USB charging cable has a matching black button on the thick end. You press that 3 times to reboot.

I am on my 2nd one of the 5. Did an update and it bricked. Called after troubleshooting and they sent me a new one. And THE EXACT SAME THING happened again months later. Called this morning and they tried to give me 50% off on a new device when they know this version is flawed. Pretty disappointed in the way they don't stand behind their product.

And won’t be buying a fitbit product if this the support they give.

Yeah! Really disappointed with the support they give. The google customer support page is not even responsive. I tried to contact them and it keeps disconnecting

I have been going through same problem since 4days , all the measures as inscribed in community portal have been applied by me. But there is no use and hope , until unless company itself considers this a genuine and major problem of their product, if it is happened generally then company should clearly mention only one year use of their fitbit products.. hopeless..

I have the exact same issue. Will be around >60% & then just turn off w/o warning. Can't be turned back on w/o the charger. For a watch that is supposed to have 7 day battery life I'm lucky to get 2. It's awful I won't be buying another Fitbit, I'm going to Garmin next this sucks

After 20 months of use, as of last Tuesday 8/27/2024, I have the same condition with my Fitbit Charge 5 device. Same attempts to recover (prescribed charger USB button reboots; Charger connect/disconnect cycling; and device Freeze method) - with no success. Now contemplating what to do with remaining Premium Subscription and accumulated data.
