Dear Fitbit Support Team,
I am experiencing an issue with my Fitbit Charge 5. The device appears to be dead—its screen is completely black and unresponsive. I initially assumed the charger might be the issue, so I purchased a new charger today. Unfortunately, the new charger did not resolve the problem.
Interestingly, the Fitbit app still shows that the device has around 50% battery, despite the screen not turning on at all.
I have tried cleaning the charging contacts, switching power sources, and performing a hard reset, but nothing has worked.
Could you please assist me in resolving this issue? I would appreciate any guidance or, if necessary, information about repair or replacement options.

Hi, welcome to the community forums @Laura1925.
Thank you for sharing the inquiry regarding this difficulty with your Charge 5.
Since you didn't mention it, I'd like to know if you see some light on the back of the tracker or feel some vibration on it?
If not, try to follow the steps listed here: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

I have the same issue with my Charge 5! Just yesterday, it stopped working after my workout, and after charging all last night, it says on the app 50% charged, and now the fitbit isnt operable, and is stuck on the fitbit icon screen. HELP!!

I’ve similar issues. Thoroughly fed up with my Charge 5. Will never buy another Fitbit, frankly.

It seems like there was an update that caused this issue. I don't have the original reset button cable, so I'm struggling to fix it. The app indicates there's an update available, but I can't reset the device or do anything without the cable. I can't reboot it from my phone either, which is really frustrating. It feels like they're trying to force us to upgrade to a Charge 6!

Hello @FrogGirlMindy
There's now a way to restart your Charge 5 using a charging cable that doesn't have the inset button. Please see this help page (<-- click link).
