Fitbit Charge 5 showing 3500 calories burned

Hello community! I have a Fitbit Charge 5 for 2 weeks but I am not very happy with it. Every day is showing me that I burn more than 3500 calories but this is impossible. I am not doing nothing, working in IT field just staying at computer. I am waking in the morning after 8 hours of sleep with 20-30 steps and 500+ Cal burned, this can’t be true. Please give me updated because I wanna sent it back, it’s a 170$ lying bracelet. Thank you!

Fitbit includes your BMR (basal metabolic rate) calorie burn, the calories your body is always burning just to stay alive.  These usually account for more than half your daily calorie burn, and would be the 500+ calories burned on waking.

From How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

Thank you for ur response! In 7-8 hours of sleep it says that I burn 500-600 cal, and at the end of the day 3600 cal. Even with the information that you provide, in my opinion is way to much. Also I wake up with 50 steps showing… how can this be possible? I think this algorithm/soft/ or on what methods the bracelet calculates, are wrong.
