My fitbit is less than a year old but is now switching off after 2/3 days and not connecting with my phone. Suggestions?

Hi there @Jelly-man, welcome to the Fitbit Community.

Thanks for sharing this situation with us about your Charge 5 that is acting abnormal.

Given the behavior you reported on your Charge 5, one possibility is that it's a result of feature settings on the device itself. I can see that your battery is running out battery life quickly and isn't lasting more than two or three days. In light of that, I'll advise following the advice provided here. You'll benefit from an improvement in battery life as a result.

  • The fitbit will now not fire up at all. Completely dead. Have tried rebooting to no avail. I have only had it since January and it is my third fitbit that has failed. Very disappointed. What should I do?

Hi there @Jelly-man, Thank you for letting me know the steps you have already tried.

Now as a first step, I would like you to try cleaning the charging contacts on the back of the device, using a toothbrush and some water.

I also need you to clean the pins that are on the charging cable, you will have to use a cotton swab and a little disinfectant alcohol, making sure that no pieces of the swab remain on the pins. Finally you will need to connect it to another USB port or a UL certified USB wall charger.

I have tried cleaning the terminals and changing plug but still the fitbit
is dead. What happens now? It is still under guarantee having been
purchased in January 2023.

Excuse typos. Should be:

Exact same issue. This is my second  with the same problem. Bought in December 2022. Very disappointing. Stopped charging. Did the reset. It worked for about a week. Stopped working again.

I am not sure where we go from here. Hope for a reply from Fitbit soon.

Hello @Jelly-man

Since the troubleshooting steps didn't work, you should contact Fitbit support (<-- click link) to see what are your options under warranty.

@Attatas& @AMEB62 : If your device is still less than a year old, I suggest you also contact Fitbit support.
