Welcome to the community forums @BrianJamesRobin.

Thank you for sharing the inquiry regarding your Charge 5.

If you haven't done so already, please try the following steps that have been useful for other users:

  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn Bluetooth off and on.
  • Open the Fitbit app and sync again

In addition, I recommend that you try restarting the device using the three pulse restart method:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end of the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

If you're still having any issues, let me know if you already tried all the steps listed here to resolve syncing problems, and make sure to check the compatibility requirements listed here and to keep the Fitbit app updated to the latest version available.

Thank you ManuFitbit!

I had been trying to get my Fitbit to sync off and on all day.  It was tracking my steps on the Fitbit, but it wouldn't connect with my Android phone.  Last nights sleep, todays steps, etc. didn't show up.  The screen with my hourly steps stayed at 27 all day, no matter how active I had been each hour.  By 4:00 my Fitbit showed around 6,000 steps.  Again, my "hourly" steps still showed 27.

Once I was done with the yard work I spent about an hour trying suggested steps to sync the Fitbit.  I rebooted my phone multiple times, turned Bluetooth on and off, restarted the Fitbit using the settings on the tracker. etc.  I finally gave up and uninstalled the Fitbit app from my phone.  After reinstalling it, my Fitbit didn't even show up as being an available Bluetooth device.

Basically, nothing I tried worked, until I saw your fix.  After I did the three presses on the charging cord to reset the tracker, waiting a second between presses, the Fitbit logo finally appeared on the watch face and I was able to get the screen with the four digits to pair it to my phone. Unfortunately, last nights sleep and all the steps I did today were wiped out.  But at least it is starting to count steps again, and it is synching with my phone again!  (Just looks like I've had a very lazy day.)
