Fitbit charge 5 HR reading very low

Hello

I’m new too Fitbit. New to wearing a tracker. But not new too fitness

I like to train in zone 2 for long durations to burn fat efficiently, so I invested in the charge 5 to monitor my HR during my activity’s. I most cycle, row. And do weighted hikes on treadmill. I have a very active job on my feet all day and I walk everywhere. My overall health is currently very good.

Im having issues with my charge 5 not reading my heart rate above around 120bpm. Is this normal?

I wear a wahoo chest strap heart rate monitor when I cycle that connects to my head unit and or turbo trainer. I also use the same chest strap when I do rowing intervals.

My heart gets up to around 180 on the rower in a short time, around 3minutes. but my Fitbit charge 5 has never given me anything higher than 120 - 130bpm. why? Is it faulty?

I hold a steady HR on the bike for an hour around 130bpm if I’m going for a zone 2 ride. And above 140 - 150bpm if sneak into zone 3-4. Again for an hour. yet my Fitbit has never given me these numbers.

what is wrong with it? is this normal? is mine broken? I’m to getting very very annoying and I’m close to selling it on. inaccurate step count is ok but inaccurate heart rate make the device essentially pointless for me.
please help me

thank you
