Fitbit charge 5 counting steps when driving

Just bought the fitbit charge 5 and really disappointed that 6 years down the road fitbit have not sorted this problem out.I drive for a living and by the end of my night i could have 8000 or more false steps added and i hasten to add most of my driving is on a motorway.

Has anyone got any apps that can delete these false steps

In my last "long" drive (about 130 miles), my Charge 5 counted almost 500 false steps.  My Ionic did a much better job, racking up less than 100 false steps on the same stretch of road, while my old Garmin Vivofit 3 counted no false steps on the same trip.  I wish my Garmin was still working, but it died about 4 months ago and I went back to the Ionic until it was recalled on March 2.  The next time I take that trip in a little over a week I'm going to try putting the Charge 5 in my pocket and see if I get a more honest result.

These watches are not fit for purpose and you'd of thought that f8tbit
would have a diving mode or some something.
