My Charge 5 has suddenly stopped tracking distance since yesterday (july 19, 2024). All the other categories are fine (steps, heart rate, calories etc.). I've restarted it through both the device itself and the charge cable. It’s still not working. I have 13,580 steps and the miles haven’t updated since about 8am this morning. How do I fix it?

Hello @Slawson7778 & @Louza12
We've seen reports from Fitbit users that they aren't seeing distance being tracked in their Fitbit app. This issue has been escalated to the team.
That said, one user noticed that they saw distance tracking again after they disabled automatic stride length and manually entered a stride length in the Fitbit app. Several other users have reported they also saw distance tracking when they used this workaround. If you would like to try this workaround, this help article has the steps on how to manually enter your stride length (<-- click link)
Hopefully, it won't take too long for the issue to be fixed.

I've had the same issue with my charge 5 - not tracking miles. I've restarted the device, changed the GPS settings charged it to 100%, took it off for a while... but still it's not tracking distance. It does track my steps but oh well.

Hello @Cookies22 , @Meebonilla , @Alyosn , @lizjara
Did you try the workaround to turn off Automatic stride length and manually enter a stride length in the Fitbit app?
If you did and it didn't work for you, please let us know what platform you're using: Android or iOS.
What version of the Fitbit app do you have? The current version for Android is 4.22.2 and iOS is 4.22

I tried that work around to turn of automatic stride length and it didn't help. My distance covered remains 0.00 km. My phone is an Android.

Mine is also not tracking miles, only when I track an activity such as running or walking. I have also tried all the restarts.

Yes I have tried this and yes it has worked, but I am just hoping my stride entered is correct!
Do you think we can switch back to automatic at some point or do we leave it on manual. Thanks for your help.

Hello @Cookies22
Thanks for letting us know that workaround was successful for you.
I expect that the fix will be rolled out in an app update.
When we learn that the distance tracking has been fixed, we will report back. Then you'll be able to switch back to Automatic stride length, if you prefer.

I am having the same issue. Yesterday I could track miles-thus morning no miles recording. I did however get credit for a 20 min swim while driving to the grocery store.
