Hi, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums, @grandmacarol3

Thanks for sharing that you've been having this inconvenience with your Charge 5.

Could you please provide a few more details? Let me know if you mean the device is not syncing data to the app or if the device can't complete a firmware update or it's stuck with a specific display.

I'll be around.

Yeah thats because it doesn't work the update is not compatible with tablets, only phones.

Constantly tried to update mine but it ALWAYS  freezes after 10 minutes of installation.

And none of the support team have a clue of how to fix it

I have the same issue, since Sunday night I cannot update or connect to the app, neither my Fitbit Charge 5 works properly. The date change but the steps calculated only adds up to Sundays number og steps. No other functions works properly. Since the watch doesn’t connect with the app on my Iphone 12 I cannot update with the new program update…

@Thenewman @LiKr Thanks for sharing that you're still having this inconvenience with your Charge 5.

If you haven't done so already, please make sure that you've also tried the steps listed here to resolve problems during the firmware update.

@LiKr In case you're referring to a syncing problem, please try the following steps that have been useful for other users:

  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn Bluetooth off and on.
  • Open the Fitbit app and sync again

In addition, I recommend that you try restarting the device using the three pulse restart method:

  1. Connect your device to the charging cable. For instructions, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times (end of the USB cable), pausing for 1 second between presses. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.

If you're still having any issues, let me know if you already tried all the steps listed here to resolve syncing problems, and make sure to check the compatibility requirements listed here and to keep the Fitbit app updated to the latest version available.

I'll be around.
