My fitbit suddenly stopped working at 10.00 am today (1 September 2023). I have tried everything to restart it, including a thorough cleaning of the contacts, pressing the reset button on the charger, a number of times, and looking for advice on line and within the fitbit app/on-line. The fitbit is not very old (approx 18 months) and has worked OK (except when the GPS stopped working for no apparent reason a few weeks ago, which I fixed by having it permanently switched on (which for the previous year I hadn't needed to do)). I tried to contact you by Chat, but this didn't work. The call number looks like a US number, and to direct message you I apparently have to join Twitter - why? I haven't swapped to Google yet, but I am not sure why this would affect my watch. I really would be grateful for some further advice (that works). I saw a suggestion for 'return to factory settings' via the app, but I have searched everywhere and I cannot find this as an option in the app on my phone (Pixel 6), and also I am not sure if I will lose data by doing this. When I was cleaning the sensors a green light came on momentarily, a couple of times which makes me think that there is life in the watch. I would be grateful for any suggestions on how to make my Charge 5 work again.

Mine wouldn’t sync this evening but had earlier in the day. I finally turned off my iPhone and after I restarted it, the Fitbit app synced perfectly again.

Same. Exact. Thing. Here! I think they screwed up an update and it caused the Charge to eat itself . Hello Apple!
Did get through via telephone and they are working to resolve.
