Hi there@JE54, thanks for stopping by! Nice to see you here.
Let me help you with your manually logged activities.
First, see our help article How to add, edit, or delete Fitbit data & activities below the section "How to manually log exercises in the Fitbit app".
If your activities are being logged inconsistently, then share the prompts you enter to see if those are related to the issue. With prompts i mean the stats such as distance, time, type of exercise, etc.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. On the exercise tab of the app, I enter the activity as a walk, I know how long I walked, and what time I started and ended my walk, although since the device dies, I sometimes have to estimate duration. I enter distance based on the route I take. (I have previously recorded my routes in the Map My Walk app). I save the entry. It generally shows as exercise, and then the saved activity is gone. Once in a while it stays, showing that I exercised that day. Very frustrating.
I have recently turned off GPS and that seems to have stopped the device from turning off on my walk. I shouldn’t need a workaround to use the tracker, and so, I am researching alternatives to Fitbit.
