Hello Fitbit Charge 5 community!
I recently encountered an issue with the GPS functionality on my Charge 5 while tracking my exercise during a bike ride. I didn't bring my phone with me, so I was relying solely on the in-built GPS on my Charge 5 to track my ride to a restaurant. However, when I arrived and waited for a few minutes without pausing the exercise, the tracker showed a message stating that the GPS was turning off as it couldn't connect anymore. Unfortunately, when I resumed my ride back home, there was no way to re-enable the GPS, and as a result, it did not track any GPS data for the return journey. I have my GPS setting on Dynamic GPS, which is supposed to automatically switch between connected GPS and the in-built GPS depending on availability.
I want to clarify that without a phone, the Fitbit Charge 5 is supposed to automatically use the in-built GPS for tracking exercises when the GPS setting is on Dynamic GPS. However, in my case, it seemed to have disconnected and couldn't be re-enabled during my ride back home.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue with the GPS disconnecting during exercise on the Fitbit Charge 5 when relying solely on the in-built GPS without a phone? I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions on how to prevent this issue from happening in the future or how to resolve it if it occurs again. It's frustrating to lose GPS tracking during my workouts, especially when I rely on it to accurately track my distance and progress.
Thank you in advance for your help and insights!
