GPS signal lost

Hi there!

I run on an indoor track and every time I hit the last lap to count almost a mile it losses GPA signal and so the time is still counting, but the distance is not being measured.  It wont connect to built in GPS, so I have been using the dynamic GPS and running with phone in hand and it still loses signal.  How do I trouble shoot this?  I just recently came back to fitbit from having a samsung and my samsung worked on the track without issues.  I don't want to use two separate devices.

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @Kmalone02!

Sad to hear that you're having issues with your Charge 5. Please try not to carry your phone in your hand while doing your indoor running as your hand could degrade the GPS reception of your phone, especially as your hands might get a little bit sweaty during your exercise.

Carry your phone in a pocket of your workout outfit instead because fabric usually is less shielding.

I really don't want my phone on me at all! I'd like just the built in GPS
on the charge 5 itself to work like my Samsung did. It bums me out I made
the switch back for something that doesn't work.

Is there any trouble shooting for the built in GPS to work or even the dynamic GPS?  It's very frustrating for it not to work correctly or always lose signal to be unsure the actual time.  I just did a reset and received an Ap update and that didn't appear to help.  The track is indicated to be 9 laps per mile, but due to the GPS signal failing Fitbit doesn't think I've hit the mile until 10 or 10.5 laps.
