HR not working. No charge and red light always on

13 month old charge 5. No faults and perfect working. 
suddenly lost all charge. When recharged the heart rate monitor no longer works, the battery charge doesn’t last a couple of hours and the red (oxygen measuring?) light is on all the time.

I have tried all the various re-boots etc. listed here, turned bits off and on again with re-boots and even changed the clock face. Nothing seems to work. I tried the holding the button down for 15 seconds re-boot but didn’t re-boot or do anything.

firmware version is 188.58. This seems an issue for other people

any advice greatly received!
