Heart Rate Zones gone mad!

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge 5 starting naturally dropping the heart rate at which I fall into cardio, my PT has made it clear I need to stay in fat burning during Cardio.

It dropped from hitting Cardio at 132 down to 129, all the while I was getting fitter I don't think that was driven by environmental factors (e.g I would have expected it to go down not up).

In any event I tried to set the custom zones and now the watch has gone made. Its putting me into cardio when I hit 120. I can ignore it and just look at the calorie burn etc but it's annoying me at the end of the week when it's saying I've done 500 fitness zone minutes. Which I clearly havent.

Can someone help?

If the lower cardio limit dropped from 132 to 129, that probably corresponds to a lowering of your resting heart rate.

The rest I get confused about.  You set a custom zone and that changed the limits for the heart rate zones.  Is that it?  When you say putting you into cardio at 120, are you sure it is into cardio, not into your custom zone?  Does your custom zone start at 120?  Can you just remove your custom zone?

Hi! Thanks for the response sorry I wasn't clear. So the watch has been
slowly lowering when I reach cardio, so it dropped to 129, which I still
think ought to be fat burning zone.

I tried to setup a custom zone between 105 to 130, it then started saying I
was hitting the cardio zone whenever I go past 120.

I turned off the custom zones but it is still doing the same thing. I'm
clearly not in cardio at 120 but I can't get it normalise again.

One thing I'm still not clear on is " it then started saying I was hitting the cardio zone whenever I go past 120."  I don't know what or how it stated telling you that.  But nonetheless,

If you tap the Zone Minutes circle on your phone app, it will show you the heart rate limits of the different zones for you.

If you don't think they seem correct, you can check the calculations yourself.  Go to How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device?  and scroll down to the section "How Does my Fitbit Device Calculate my Heart-Rate Zones?"

What I mean by that is when I get to 120 pulse beats per minute my watch
indicates I'm in cardio zone, which is clearly wrong. I'm still in fat
burning surely. I've tried changing the zones but it just keeps doing the
same thing, after going past 120 beats it states I'm in cardio.
