Heart rate inaccurate when wearing long-sleeves clothes in Charge 5

When it gets cool and I start wearing long-sleeve jerseys and/or wind jacket while cycling, my Charge 5 records very low heart rates (and therefore cardio levels) compared to similar exercise while wearing a short sleeve jersey. The same phenomenon occurred with my Charge 4, which is one reason I replaced it.

Thoughts? is there a fix (other than wearing short sleeves)?

edited to add: if there are no labels available, why is there a blank for labels?

I would have bet anything that the phrase "restart your FitBit" would have
appeared in an answer. Where's my bookie when I need her?

I wear the device the same whether I'm dressed in long or short sleeves.
Lest you think I'm a newbie, this is the fifth FitBit I've owned (Zip, One,
Charge3, Charge4, Charge5). Maybe the sixth - was there a Charge2?

Here are records of two rides that follow substantially the same route, one
(top) while wearing short sleeves and one (bottom) while wearing long
sleeves

:
The FitBIt-reported total calories for the top ride (1591) is within about
3% of my calculation using a METS formula. The reported total calories for
the bottom ride (626) is off by a factor of two (1351 per METS).

Hi, @2labz Welcome back to the Fitbit Community.

Thanks for letting me know about this situation with the heart rate data when wearing long-sleeves jersey. Wearing these kind of clothes should not impact the functionality of your Charge 5, as long as you follow the correct way to wear it

However, I recommend you to restart your Fitbit and check if after this the situation continues. Thanks for your efforts!
