Hi, I am stuck deciding between Fitbit sense and charge 5,
I want sense because it has basically all the features Fitbit offers, but what I don’t like is how people had issues with its water resistance, and heart rate issues also just a question, i am planning to buy one of these watches this summer when I go to the US, but I am wondering if I choose the sense to buy, then a few months later the Fitbit sense 2 comes out, will I be disappointed with my choice? Or will the Fitbit sense still be good when the sense 2 comes out. Also please tell me what are the chances of the Fitbit sense getting water damaged.
I want the charge 5 because it has all the necessary features except the altimeter, I like how it is small and more comfortable for my wrist and it has fewer people experienced water damage. What I don’t like though, is that Fitbit removed the altimeter a necessary, and it doesn’t have the stress notifications nor the relax app.
Thank you

@ShadowNinja have you tried this quiz to help you decide?
I've used both the Charge 5 and the Sense. I like them both, but I use the Sense currently. I like having all the smartwatch features of the Sense.
My Sense hasn't had a problem with water resistance, but I am not a swimmer. I found that both devices do okay with heart rate once I figured out how to position them on my arm.
I don't know when/if the Sense 2 will be released. Fitbit will continue to support the original Sense after that, so it will still be usable for a while.

Ok sounds like sense is the way to go thank you, also, since you said that you haven’t had an issue with the sense’s water resistance, have you tried swimming with it or getting it submerged or wet?
thanks

I've submerged my Sense a few times and it's been fine. I'm not a swimmer, so I can't speak to that. I think @Gr4ndp4 is, so he may be able to answer your questions about swimming with the Sense.

Hi, @ShadowNinja I swim 3000 metres daily (90 minutes) and use the "sense" at the moment though I have used the "Charge 5 in the past. For me, the big advantage of the "Sense" is I have the display set up to show lengths in the central large register which I can see while swimming without the aid of reading glasses. I hope this helps.
Cheers

My experience instead is that Sense has a very bad HR sensor (I tried all possible wrist positions) and I have returned it and prefer to use an old but more reliable Charge 4. Many other users in this forum are complaining about that.
Regarding swimming an important cons of Charge 5 is that while in session it only shows the time while laps/distance/pace are measured only when synced to the app at the end of the session. Sense can instead show those metrics while swimming. Bear in mind that all Fitbit do not measure HR while swimming so if it's important for you, you should move to another brand.
